You can’t find out who you really are by sticking with what you already know.
One of my most favorite pastimes is to go to the movies. I’ve heard many people say that it “Costs too much money to go to the movies,” and they would rather wait until the movie comes out on DVD. I personally love to pay for the WHOLE theater experience. The alluring smell of popcorn when you walk through the doors, the excitement you feel as you climb the stairs, choose the best available seat and then await the anticipated adventure.
It is an adventure that you not only watch, but experience as it sucks you into that great big screen as big as the entire front wall, with surround sound to match. It’s as much of a thrill as being on an amusement park ride. At least it is to me, anyway.
Recently my daughter and I went to see Kung Fu Panda 3; a “ride” that was well worth the price we paid. I love the message that I came away with. Keep in mind that most movies are made with a certain message that the writer intends to convey to the viewers, although the night I viewed this particular movie, I realized that everyone goes home with a different message that is unique to what their needs are at the time.
What I came away with after watching Kung Fu Panda 3, which was nothing short of brilliant and heartwarming, was empowerment. I found myself wanting to fight all the demons and monsters that are blocking and wreaking havoc in my own life, whether they be from the battles brewing in my own mind, or from the storms and trials of life. The message I came away with was to seek out and know who you are inside, and to discover your special qualities. Then to use those qualities, your uniqueness of character, and your talents and gifts to fulfill whatever you are called on in life to do.
When you are clear and firm in who you are, and believe in what you have to offer, the magic of it all comes together with the universe to create something that no power on earth can match. It is called purpose. Put that together with family, friends and God, who all love and support you, and you have unlimited strength and energy to accomplish anything and everything you desire. You can conquer anything that stands in your way!
Significant Lines from the movie:
Shifu: If you only do what you can do, you’ll never be better than what you are.
Po: But I like who I am!
Shifu: You don’t even know who you are!
Li: [to Po] You must rediscover what it is to be a panda!
Just as Po needed to rediscover who he was, it might be time now for you to rediscover who you are. I will assist you in doing that, as well as support you in your search for your own purpose, so that you can find your inner ‘”Chai” and live your best life. What makes you, YOU? Let’s explore this together.
